EuroCIO

The European CIO Association (EuroCIO) is the only European, independent, not-for-profit representative for enterprise IT users (the ‘demand side’ of IT) in the private and public sectors. With over 900 organisations as members, represented by their highest CIO or IT decision-maker, and representing over 600,000 IT professionals, EuroCIO is the largest organisation of its kind, with connections to other CIO communities around the world. Our main objectives are:
  • sharing and developing a vision and exchanging experience at a European level for best use of information technology through internal working groups, web conferences, newsletters, and network meetings for our national members and our so-called direct members (large corporates).
  • representing the enterprise user community to the main IT vendors and European institutions, such as the European Commission and the European Parliament.
EuroCIO is an active participant in many programmes of the European Commission, such as cloud computing, e-skills, and security. The voice of the large IT users is well heard at the European level and influences the Digital Agenda. It will put its stamp on innovation, the e-skills programme, IT education, and regulation & directives for cloud and cybersecurity.

Presidency

From January 1st 2017, the European CIO Association has two Presidents succeeding Freddy Van den Wyngaert, who became Secretary-General at the same date. Emmanuel Gaudin, Group CIO Lagardere, has as primary focus the Direct Members, sharing of best practices and experiences across CIOs and the leadership/sponsorship of the Innovation Solutions and Initiatives Council. Thomas Endres, president of VOICE, the German CIO network, has as primary focus the cooperation with and expansion of the network of National CIO organisations, as well as vendor relations. Thomas is sponsor for the Supplier Relationships Council(SRC). Both chairmen share the relationships with the European Commission in order to strengthen the perspective of IT-demand-companies in the European set-up of digitization.

ICT Media

ICT Media is fully focussed on facilitating the CIO, IT, telecoms and sourcing communities with demand-driven programmes at C level. Our target group comprises CIOs, but we also focus on direct reports of the CIO, IT decision-makers as well as on telecom professionals. We support these executives with our publications and by facilitating networking at our events.
